The Tranquillity High School Tiger Band marched in the Fresno County 150th parade on Saturday, Sept. 30, The parade, held in downtown Fresno, was reminiscent of Fresno's early and mid-century parades.


 

Planning Starts for Fall Festival

The City of San Joaquin is planning the 3rd annual Fall Festival, in Rusconi Park, on Saturday, Sept. 23. The event is the City’s only fundraiser for youth activities, and organizers are asking the community and local businesses to help support the effort with a cash donation or raffle prize.

The festival this year includes Mariachi De La Tierra, a drawing and other youth oriented games and activities. the drawing will be held at 6 p.m., with the festival closing at 8:30 p.m.

New Library Hours

Effective Aug. 28, the hours of service at Tranquillity Library will change for the fall and winter:

Tuesday: 1 to 5 p.m.

Thursday: 1 to 5 p.m.

Saturday: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Olympic Wrestler Speaks at TES

April 26 - Olympic silver medal wrestler Stephen Abas (Greece, 2004), spoke with students at Tranquillity Elementary School recently. His topic was succeeding in school by establishing goals. He encouraged students to put forth their best effort and take state testing seriously. Abas was accompanied by retired Fresno State wrestling coach Dennis Deliddo.
